A pseudocapacitive molecule-induced strategy to construct flexible high-performance asymmetric supercapacitors

摘要: The combination of high-voltage windows and bending stability remains a challenge for supercapacitors. Here, we present an “advantage-complementary strategy” using sodium lignosulfonate as a pseudocapacitive molecule to regulate the spatial stacking pattern of graphene oxide and the interfacial architectures of graphene oxide and polyaniline. Flexible and sustainable sodium lignosulfonate-based electrodes are successfully developed, showing perfect bending stability and high electronic conductivity and specific capacitance (521 F·g−1 at 0.5 A·g–1). Due to the resulting rational interfacial structure and stable ion-electron transport, the asymmetric supercapacitors provide a wide voltage window reaching 1.7 V, outstanding bending stability and high energy-power density of 83.87 Wh·kg–1 at 3.4 kW·kg–1. These properties are superior to other reported cases of asymmetric energy enrichment. The synergistic strategy of sodium lignosulfonate on graphene oxide and polyaniline is undoubtedly beneficial to advance the process for the construction of green flexible supercapacitors with remarkably wide voltage windows and excellent bending stability.

Effect of fiber hybridization on energy absorption and synergy in concrete

摘要: In the present study, steel and polypropylene (PP) fibers have been utilized with the intent of obtaining hybrid fiber-reinforced concrete (HFRC) with desirable mechanical properties. An attempt has been made to scrutinize the properties of HFRC with the main concentration being on energy absorption characteristics of concrete and the efficacy of fiber hybridization in producing synergy. Accordingly, a total of 180 specimens, representing 20 different mixtures have been cast and evaluated through compressive, split tensile, and flexural tests. The relevant flexural toughness of the specimens was calculated using ASTM C1018, ASTM C1609, JSCE, and PCS methods, and the effectiveness of these methods was evaluated based on the experimental results. It was observed that steel fibers are more effective in the improvement of flexural toughness in the presence of PP fibers. Furthermore, synergy associated with the combination of fibers at different stages of deflection of the beam specimens was observed and analyzed.

Numerical analysis on heat transfer enhancement by longitudinal vortex based on field synergy principle

摘要: Three-dimensional numerical simulation results are presented for a fin-and-tube heat transfer surface with vortex generators. The effects of the Reynolds number (from 800 to 2 000) and the attack angle (30º and 45º) of a delta winglet vortex generator are examined. The numerical results are analyzed on the basis of the field synergy principle to explain the inherent mechanism of heat transfer enhancement by longitudinal vortex. The secondary flow generated by the vortex generators causes the reduction of the intersection angle between the velocity and fluid temperature gradients. In addition, the computational evaluations indicate that the heat transfer enhancement of delta winglet pairs for an aligned tube bank fin-and-tube surface is more significant than that for a staggered tube bank fin-and-tube surface. The heat transfer enhancement of the delta winglet pairs with an attack angle of 45º is larger than that with an angle of 30º. The delta winglet pair with an attack angle of 45º leads to an increase in pressure drop, while the delta winglet pair with the 30º angle results in a slight decrease. The heat transfer enhancement under identical pumping power condition for the attack angle of 30º is larger than that for the attack angle of 45º either for staggered or for aligned tube bank arrangement.

Enhanced synergy between Cu

摘要: As the substitution of common noble catalysts in the hydrogenation of carboxylic acid, a highly effective Cu-Ni/SiO catalyst was prepared by a novel stepwise ammonia evaporation method. Its performance in the gas-phase hydrogenation of acetic acid was further examined. With the introduction of Ni dopant, more stable Cu sites, which can adsorb more acetic acid, were formed due to the electron transfer from Cu to Ni. This makes more Cu sites available for hydrogen adsorption, which was suggested as the rate-determining step in acetic acid hydrogenation. A conversion of 99.6% was successfully achieved on this new Cu/SiO -0.5Ni catalyst, accompanied by the ethanol selectivity of 90%. The incorporation of nickel between copper nanoparticles enhances the synergistic effect between Cu and Cu . It also helps mitigate the aggregation of copper nanoparticles due to the Ostwald ripening effect induced by acetic acid and enhance the stability of copper catalyst in the conversion of carboxylic acid.

Analysis of synergy degree and its influencing factors in hydropower EPC project management

摘要: The use of engineering procurement construction (EPC) mode is currently a trend in hydropower engineering construction. The clarification of the internal relationship between hydropower EPC projects and the realization of synergy has great significance in improving management efficiency and implementation effect. In this work, a three-dimensional system and a system model of hydropower EPC project management synergy are constructed. The mechanism and factors that influence the degree of management synergy are analyzed on the basis of management synergy theory. Furthermore, the evaluation index system and the degree of synergy model are established, and grey relational analysis is utilized to identify the key factors that affect the synergy degree. Thus, this study aims to facilitate the hydropower EPC project management synergy, provide a quantitative method for synergy degree evaluation, and propose corresponding promotion strategies. Results show that the order degree of each subsystem presents a steady upward trend. Specifically, the order degree of the subsystem at the trial operation stage is low, which is the major restriction on the further improvement of the synergy degree of EPC project management. The key factors in improving the synergy level of hydropower EPC project management are mainly concentrated in the information and organization synergy subsystems, including the construction degree of information platform, the performance of functions, the timeliness of information transfer, and the functions of the information platform.

Homoharringtonine synergy with oridonin in treatment of t(8; 21) acute myeloid leukemia

摘要: Collaboration of c-KIT mutations with AML1–ETO (AE) has been demonstrated to induce t(8; 21) acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Targeted therapies designed to eliminate AE and c-KIT oncoproteins may facilitate effective treatment of t(8; 21) AML. Homoharringtonine (HHT) features activity against tumor cells harboring c-KIT mutations, whereas oridonin can induce t(8; 21) AML cell apoptosis and AE cleavage. Therefore, studies should explore the efficacy of combination therapy with oridonin and HHT in t(8; 21) AML. In this study, we investigated the synergistic effects and mechanism of oridonin combined with HHT in t(8; 21) AML cell line and mouse model. The two drugs synergistically inhibited cell viability and induced significant mitochondrial membrane potential loss and apoptosis. Oridonin and HHT induced significant downregulation of c-KIT and its downstream signaling pathways and promoted AE cleavage. HHT increased intracellular oridonin concentration by modulating the expressions of MRP1 and MDR1, thus enhancing the effects of oridonin. The combination of oridonin and HHT prolonged t(8; 21) leukemia mouse survival. In conclusion, oridonin and HHT exert synergistic effects against t(8; 21) leukemia and , thereby indicating that their combination may be an effective therapy for t(8; 21) leukemia.

摘要: 3-D numerical simulations were presented for laminar flow and heat transfer characteristics in a rectangular channel with vortex generators. The effects of Reynolds number (from 800 to 3 000), the attack angle of vortex generator (from 15° to 90°) and the shape of vortex generator were examined. The numerical results were analyzed based on the field synergy principle. It is found that the inherent mechanism of the heat transfer enhancement by longitudinal vortex can be explained by the field synergy principle, that is, the second flow generated by vortex generators results in the reduction of the intersection angle between the velocity and fluid temperature gradient. The longitudinal vortex improves the field synergy of the large downstream region of longitudinal vortex generator (LVG) and the region near (LVG); however, transverse vortex only improves the synergy of the region near vortex generator. Thus, longitudinal vortex can enhance the integral heat transfer of the flow field, while transverse vortex can only enhance the local heat transfer. The synergy angle decreases with the increase of Reynolds number for the channel with LVG to differ from the result obtained from the plain channel, and the triangle winglet performs better than the rectanglar one under the same surface area condition.

Design of bio-oil additives via molecular signature descriptors using a multi-stage computer-aided molecular

摘要: Direct application of bio-oil from fast pyrolysis as a fuel has remained a challenge due to its undesirable attributes such as low heating value, high viscosity, high corrosiveness and storage instability. Solvent addition is a simple method for circumventing these disadvantages to allow further processing and storage. In this work, computer-aided molecular design tools were developed to design optimal solvents to upgrade bio-oil whilst having low environmental impact. Firstly, target solvent requirements were translated into measurable physical properties. As different property prediction models consist different levels of structural information, molecular signature descriptor was used as a common platform to formulate the design problem. Because of the differences in the required structural information of different property prediction models, signatures of different heights were needed in formulating the design problem. Due to the combinatorial nature of higher-order signatures, the complexity of a computer-aided molecular design problem increases with the height of signatures. Thus, a multi-stage framework was developed by developing consistency rules that restrict the number of higher-order signatures. Finally, phase stability analysis was conducted to evaluate the stability of the solvent-oil blend. As a result, optimal solvents that improve the solvent-oil blend properties while displaying low environmental impact were identified.

Progress on molecular biomarkers and classification of malignant gliomas

摘要:

Gliomas are the most common primary intracranial tumors in adults. Anaplastic gliomas (WHO grade III) and glioblastomas (WHO grade IV) represent the major groups of malignant gliomas in the brain. Several diagnostic, predictive, and prognostic biomarkers for malignant gliomas have been reported over the last few decades, and these markers have made great contributions to the accuracy of diagnosis, therapeutic decision making, and prognosis of patients. However, heterogeneity in patient outcomes may still be observed, which highlights the insufficiency of a classification system based purely on histopathology. Great efforts have been made to incorporate new information about the molecular landscape of gliomas into novel classifications that may potentially guide treatment. In this review, we summarize three distinctive biomarkers, three most commonly altered pathways, and three classifications based on microarray data in malignant gliomas.

分子电子学(moletronics)是用分子作为单元对分子电子学器件进行装配。这是一个包含物理、化学、材料科学及工程等学科的多学科交叉领域。分子电子学致力于使硅元件尺寸进一步减小。科学家已经在等效分子器件方面进行了诸多探索性研究。分子电子学在电子以及光子应用中逐渐产生影响,如导电聚合物、光色材料、有机超导体、电致变色材料等。为了满足减小硅片尺寸的需求,研究人员有必要将这种新型技术引入到分子层面。虽然分子层面仪器的实验验证和建模分析是一项艰巨的任务,但分子电子学领域依然出现了突破性进展。本文将对不同分子器件和潜在的适用于不同器件的分子应用结合起来进行讨论,如分子晶体管、分子二极管、分子电容、分子导线和分子绝缘体等。本文简要讨论未来的发展趋势以及介绍各种基于石墨烯已取得一定研究成果的分子仪器。

Molecular size characterization of heavy oil fractions in vacuum and solution by molecular dynamic simulation

摘要: Two kinds of heavy oils were fractionated into eight fractions by Liquid-Solid Adsorption Chromatography, respectively, and samples were collected to measure properties. According to the elemental analysis, molecular weight and H-NMR data, average molecular structures of polycyclic aromatic and heavy resin were constructed with improved Brown-Ladner (B-L) method and several corrections. And then, the most stable conformations of polycyclic aromatic and heavy resin in vacuum and toluene solution were obtained by molecular dynamic simulation, and the molecular size was gotten via the radius of gyration analysis. The results showed that the radius of gyration of polycyclic aromatic and heavy resin was 0.55–0.70 nm in vacuum and 0.60–0.90 nm in toluene solution. With molecular weight increasing, the molecular size in vacuum and toluene solution also increased. Due to the swelling behavior of solvent, the alkyl side chains of heavy oil molecule in solution were more stretched. Thus, the molecular size in toluene solution was larger than that in vacuum.

Effect of / molecular structures on pyrolysis performance and heat sink of decalin isomers

摘要: Decalin is considered as an important compound of high-energy-density endothermic fuel, which is an ideal on-board coolant for thermal management of advanced aircraft. However, decalin contains two isomers with a tunable composition, and their effects on the pyrolysis performance, such as the heat sink and coking tendency have not been demonstrated. Herein, we investigated the pyrolysis of decalin isomers, i.e., cis-decalin, trans-decalin and their mixtures (denoted as mix-decalin), in order to clarify the effects of the cis-/trans-structures on the pyrolysis performance of decalin fuels. The pyrolysis results confirmed that conversion of the tested fuels (600–725 °C, 4 MPa) decreased in the order cis-decalin > mix-decalin > trans-decalin. Detailed analyses of the pyrolysis products were used to compare the product distributions from cis-decalin, mix-decalin and trans-decalin, and the yields of some typical components (such as cyclohexene, 1-methylcyclohexene, benzene and toluene) showed significant differences, which could be ascribed to deeper cracking of cis-decalin. Additionally, the heat sinks and coking tendencies of the decalins decreased in the order cis-decalin > mix-decalin > trans-decalin. This work demonstrates the relationship between the cis/trans structures and the pyrolysis performance of decalin, which provides a better understanding of the structure-activity relationships of endothermic hydrocarbon fuels.
